The Effective measures to survive in an China`s Online Business in International Trade

Nowadays the competition of international economic and overall national strength is focused on the science and technology. And I think some National innovation system is determining the economic actual strength of one country and capability of competition to a great degree or we may say the new network technologies of the globalization of economic competition has a great influence on the management system and allocation patterns in high-tech enterprises. For instance, if your enterprise does not supply its stuffs& services online, then you are affirmatively living in the Ancient Age. Today businesses are aware of that so as to maintain competitive, they ought to keep in touch with today’s spectator who specialized in doing business principally online.

Let me take an example. Outsourcing of online business is a fundamental Chinese manufacture. Compared to other developing nations such as many countries in Africa, especially in international trade, China’s political and economic system is relatively stable. on the grounds of Official Census bureau, the imports from China in 2007 of Foreign Trade Division were over $349 Billion dollars and the imports from China for the first nine months of 2008 imports from China were over $265 Billion dollars. As a matter of fact, the variations scene is due to Chinese outsourcing and the means of online business. By comparison with other countries, the Main risks in association with doing online business with a China outsourcing agency are less. Involved in outsourcing of commodities in international trade, Chinese legal system has improved a lot to check the online business and risks.

Consequently, It is essential that developing good relationships with the appropriate online business partners in correspondence with China outsourcing. It is also vital to have perfect international trade legal counsel abide by the inhomogeneity of contract law, local Chinese law and correlative shielded steps when doing online business by the goodness of China outsourcing.

I have no doubt that running an online business signifies that have a global spectator. Consequently, if you have a global spectator that implys that your shop is up and running 24 hours every day and 7 days of the week. When your consumers from Tokyo perhaps might be sleeping, those from New York would absolutely be awake. For this reason, an online business is one that Unstoppable. It is one that is always on call by consumers. In the same way an online business need be manned at the whole time, keeping an close eye on potential business.

I consider that in managing an online business, communication is of great concern. Exercising email and immediate messaging as a form of communication between you and your office workers will certainly be helpful. There are also diverse technologies such as the VIP that can you to speak with your business working partners and your personnel from all over the world thorough easily. Ethical Dilemmas Faced By Nurses

Ethical Dilemmas Faced By Nurses

Introduction

The field of medical ethics is a subject of international perspective. Though not a new subject, it gained eminence in the period after the Second World War. It involves the analysis and application of moral values, privileges and responsibilities in areas of medical treatment, analysis and research. Decisions with a moral bearing are required everyday in varying cases during the pursuit of medical care. Such questions rotate around the relationship between medical personnel and patients, the procedure of conducting scientific experimentation on human, and the communication conduct during period of natural processes involving life and death are concerned.

Dilemmas Faced by Nurses

Improvement in scientific and medical technologies has raised difficulties in making and executing decisions both to individuals and the society. Nurses are part of the society and are normally in the frontline among healthcare personnel. As such, they form the frontline that normally gets confronted with ethical dilemmas with regard to life and death and a balanced provision of health care. The dilemmas faced by nurses to a great percentage represent the ethical dilemmas faced in the entire medical field. One of the most outstanding dilemmas is allowing a patient to die. Advance in medical technology has made it possible for a patient to be put on life supporting gadgets which can prolong his life even when there is no evidence of any response in another part of the body except the brain. Patients today have a right to make decisions concerning their lives if they deem some situations to be inhuman for their continued existence. A patient may decide to discontinue medical attention for terminal diseases preferring to die in dignity other than being subjected to experiments he may deem too expensive. In such an instance, making a decision becomes complicated since the right of the patient ought to be respected which conflicts with the doctors and nurses responsibility to take care and adopt processes that can prolong life. A decision at that level is complex because of the law requirements to protect patients from harm yet giving room for respect of an individual’s liberty. There are other issues surrounding mortality which raises deep ethical dilemmas. One set of issue surrounds allowing a sick person to die. Another aspect of this is euthanasia, where a patient is actively assisted to achieve death. Another dilemma faced by nurses surrounds the controversial area of reproduction and cloning. The development of the birth control pill raised substantial debate especially from religious circles opposed to artificial birth control. In addition to these are pills which prevent pregnancy or induce abortion. The nurse is faced daily by the challenge of giving advices regarding reproduction, an area which has in the past generated substantial concerns. The nurse is faced by the dilemma of giving in to family’s demands in cases where a nurse is pressurized to respond out of the family’s feeling of pain and duress on their patient. The physicians do not have a lot of time with the patients and hence most of the information regarding the patient is carried by the nurses. The patient is normally a VIP to someone else and this exerts undue pressure on nurses who have to show extreme care for all the patients. The nurse is daily faced with the dilemma of passing on information. Some patients prefer that information regarding their state of health is not passed on to the family yet the family may demand such information. The reverse situation is also true incases where family members knowing the fatality of the disease in their patient may wish that such information be withheld from the patient to avoid unnecessary duress on the part of the patient. There are also situations where family members may wish not to pass on information they may regard terrible to the patient. This may include a tragedy occurring on the home of the patient or a tragedy occurring to a family member when the patient is unwell. A nurse may uphold one principle and violate the other in an attempt to fulfill the wishes of the patient. For instance, a nurse upholds the principle of self determination and mislabels saline solution by fulfilling the patients wish yet in so doing violates the principle of beneficence for failing to provide necessary treatment. The nurse is also constrained to act in regard to administration procedures. For instance, futile CPR may be applied to a patient who is yet to make payment, hence receive less than necessary treatment, whereas the same patient receives effective CPR upon payment. This introduces a twisting between academic ethics and practice in the real world. An increasingly number of nurses in the world works in substandard conditions yet they are expected to deliver services with terms borrowed from the private sector such as customer service and optimal service delivery. And the nurse is always faced with the difficulty of communicating news which are normally not welcome such as death and diagnosis of terminal illnesses.

Conclusion

The subject of ethical dilemmas has been considered an academic exercise which is not applicable in real practice. The nurse who lacks to administer necessary treatment because money is yet to be paid upholds distributive justice yet in so doing creates a dilemma when the principle of ethics is violated. There is however need to actively involve nurses in making and communicating critical decisions regarding patients because of the central role they play in the life of patients.

Tech Update - Scientists Grow Teeth in The Laboratories

Tech Update - Scientists Grow Teeth in The Laboratories

It is amazing what science can do these days. You have probably seen people with artificial limbs, known or heard of someone who has had breast implants or cosmetic surgery or you may have even read about the successful cloning of Dolly, the British sheep! Scientists are also working to find breakthroughs that will change the face of dentistry. Discoveries over the past year could lead to the ability to grow teeth! Scientists at the University of Texas-Houston Dental Branch and the Baylor College of Medicine have discovered why three generations in one family were born without a full set of first and second molars. After reviewing their DNA (the blueprints for the body genetic makeup) the problem was narrowed down to one particular gene (PAX9). When a mutation of this gene occurs, people are born without a full set of teeth. As many as 20 percent of the population do not have a full set of first and second molars because of this problem. Now that researchers know what happens when PAX9 mutates, they have an opportunity to better understand the genetics of tooth development and possibly replicate the process of growing new teeth. But PAX9 is not the only tooth-related genetic discovery that scientistsGel to enhance tooth growth have revealed in the past few months. A gene called BARX-1 has been found to control the growth of teeth. In the next 10 or 20 years, we may be able to apply a gel to the gums or a tooth to stimulate tooth repair and growth. Imagine having a special solution painted on your tooth to repair a cavity instead of having a filling. Imagine the difference between having no tooth and a newly grown tooth in a matter of weeks, thanks to this innovation! It sounds far-fetched, but growing new teeth is within the realms of possibility in the next decade. Scientists at the University of South California, Center for Craniofacial Molecular Biology, have been analyzing tooth enamel for 20 years. 'Why?' you may ask. Their goal is to be able to offer fillings that most closely resemble enamel, rather than using silver, gold or resin materials. Last summer, the researchers identified tiny spheres, which regulate how enamel forms. For now, the strength of enamel can not be replicated in a laboratory, but they understand how nature makes it. With time, synthetic enamel should be another option we can offer! Researchers say there are many more genes affecting tooth formation that they have not even discovered yet. Before long, there will be unlimited ways to improve your dental health and make the most of your smile.

Harvesting thermal energy using Geothermal Heating technology

Harvesting thermal energy using Geothermal Heating technology

Beneath the earths surface lies a hidden energy source that is more than capable of providing us with heat and hot water. This energy source is known as thermal energy and can be harvested using specifically designed geothermal heating technology. This article will give you a better idea of how this natural energy source has come into existance and how geothermal heating systems actually harvest this energy.

But how exactly has thermal energy come into existance? Thermal energy is caused by a number of contributors. For example, heat radiates out from the earths core and warms the ground. The earth also absorbs energy from the heat of the sun. In some parts of the world this underground heat source is much stronger. It does not really matter where you are in the world though as geothermal heating technologies are able to extract heat from the ground however weak that heat is.

The idea of making use of heat energy that is present beneath our feet is not new. Hot water that naturally exists beneath the earths surface in some parts of the world was made use of by the Roman Empire who used it for their spas and also to heat some of their buildings. In effect this was the start of basic geothermal heating systems. In todays world, naturally heated water beneath the earths surface is still being made full use of. Iceland for example have developed special geothermal power stations which harvest this energy to provide electricity to homes and businesses.

Geothermal heating systems such as the Ground Source heat pump are now used across the world with much success. As the name suggests the Ground Source heat pump collects heat from the beneath the ground and literally pumps this heat around a home or property. Ground source heat pumps make use of a loop of pipes that are installed deep under the ground. The loop of pipes contain a solution that can quite easily absorb any heat energy present in the ground. The solution is pumped continually through the loop of pipes and absorbs heat from the surrounding ground as it flows. The solution makes it way through the loop of pipes to the heat exchanger part of the system where the heat is removed from the solution. This newly acquired heat is then used to provide us with heat and hot water.

Geothermal heating systems are fast becoming heating systems of choice by many people across the world. In general most people are becoming more environmentally aware and want to help lower their impact on the planet. Most people are also reluctant to keep forking out rediculous money to keep their homes warm using traditional fuels such as gas and oil. Geothermal heating systems such as Ground Source heat pumps provide just the answer many people are looking for.

If this article has been of interest you may just want to find out a little more about the benefits of investing in geothermal heating systems such as Ground Source heat pumps? A Unique and Captivating Viewing Experience

A Unique and Captivating Viewing Experience

Digital media refers to a recording transmitted over the Internet. Digital media may be in the form of formats we are familiar of, like music, photo, or video. It combines arts, science, and technology to create a virtual experience for human expression, social interaction, entertainment and even education. This transforms analog phones, video games, televisions, and all other gadgets to more convenient and more realistic digital data through a converter called sampling. Once digitized, digital signal processing will automatically conduct, filter, edit, and rejuvenate content to create high definition scenes, clearer audio streaming, richer color as well as better depth. In today’s fast pace technology, digital programming permits home-based television recording, video downloads, and three dimensional gaming.Undoubtedly, digital technology has combined the power of computers and television and incorporated Internet as an essential medium in everyday lives of men. This also improves existing arts and gives rise to a new form of production.Comic book artists used to sketch their drawings using pencil works, pens, and brushes, which wastes a lot of resources. They have to re-draw every scene to create an illusion of motion to their masterpiece when printed or shown in animation. The same situation used to happen with magazine illustrators as they do meticulous painting with acrylic, oil, and ink. One mistake in one character may already mislead their audience with regards to the story they aim to portray. Thus, each of them used to take a long time creating a single episode. With the current technology, digital animation is now possible. Anime videos are sketched and painted with the used of digital pad connected to a computer. There is no need to re-draw each and every character since can now produce many copies of those by a single click on their mouse. They can automatically add depth and easily eradicate excess marks on each frame as well. Lines of characters are clearly visible and posted in time of every character’s dialogue, thus no audience will be lost throughout the story. In today’s generation, anime videos have conquered the conventional comic strips in news papers and magazines. These are proven to be more entertaining for its more realistic appeal not just to kids, but also to the kids at heart. These are also more convenient for these are accessible through the Internet and can be watched on most channels on televisions.Indeed, digital media’s anime videos have captivated the hearts of millions worldwide. With this, people rely more on technology for all the entertainment they want.

Intelligent Car Keys - The Best Gadget for the Safety of Your Car

Intelligent Car Keys - The Best Gadget for the Safety of Your Car

Among the various advancements in the automobile sector, the intelligent car keys have come up as an effective tool for the safety of your car. Apart from safeguarding your vehicle, these keys are also helpful in advancing your driving experience by adding more comfort and style.

Today we are living in the progressive time of science and technology, where everything is an outcome of the regular advancements in technology. These technological advancements are not confined to any particular sector rather they have paved their way towards every segment of life. In the vast automobile sector also, this has led to the invention of many new advanced systems like computer diagnostic system, GPS system, automotive sensors, satellite radio and many other innovations. Among these the intelligent car keys have arrived as an effective tool for offering excellent safety to your car and with other advanced features, which are meant to improvise your driving experience with style and comfort.

Also recognized with several names like Smart Keys, Keyless Car Remotes, Replacement Keys and more, these intelligent car keys have been developed using the latest technological innovations. The functioning process of these keys is based on the communication between a small microchip and the radio transmitter fixed behind the steering wheel of the car. When you press a button on the remote, the microchip inside emits a lower radio wave signal to the transmitter, so as to establish connectivity between them. The sent frequency of these radio waves varies from country to country and the type of car you drive. Finally, when the code sent through the radio waves is detected and recognized by the transmitter, it follows the requested instruction given by the remote and the best part is the code is very unique and impossible to copy. Therefore, using the remote of another car would be unsuccessful in performing any function hence it proves to be an amazing tool that even helps in reducing the number of car thefts.

Talking about its features, these remotes perform a plethora functions from a distance of about 5 m to 20 meters. Some of them include switching on/off the ignition, opening the fuel pump cap, unlocking and locking of the doors and closing/opening of any specific window, door, roof or trunk of your car with just a click of a button. But most importantly, these intelligent car keys are equipped with an alarm system that helps in safeguarding your vehicle from any sort of theft or damage. In every car various sensors are connected with this alarm system. When anybody touches your car or tries to get into it, then these sensors send a signal to the smart key and starts producing a beeping sound to alert you about this attempt. This alerts you and helps in preventing any theft or damage to your car.

So, if your car is not equipped with these intelligent car keys, then you can get them installed for your car as well. For this you can search various online stores that offer a wide variety of these keys for various models of cars. Depending on your car's models and your requirements, you can purchase them from any online store. But if you are still find a problem in searching for the right sort of intelligent car keys, then searching on fobkeyless.com will help you in finding it from their offered range. So start your search and opt for the best intelligent car key that suits your requirement and budget.

Scientific Explanations For Remote Viewing

Scientific Explanations For Remote Viewing

Eighteenth and nineteenth century physical science had completed andembellished the 'golden age of a mechanistic and deterministic modelsof the universe' where the universe and its constituents are ruled byrigid interactive forces that can be measured, phenomena that can bepredicted using mathematical tools, and where the universe or anysystem operating within it is made of the sum of its parts.

Lightwas thought to be an electromagnetic wave vibrating in an undetected, and later experimentally disproved media: 'the ether', at certain ratesof vibration that would define its color. It was part of theelectromagnetic wave spectrum that allowed one to perceive anelectromagnetic wave as heat, light , radio waves, or otherelectromagnetic radiations depending on the frequency of itsvibrations. This spectrum had been well-defined by the equations of theEnglish physicist James Clerk Maxwell in 1864.

Man's biology wasreduced to a mechanical system albeit of extreme complexity, andthought was perceived to be but an epiphenomenon of the mechanicalbrain.

All this was very hygienic, logical, and comforting. Itallowed to view the so-called invisible world of spiritual forces orentities as a personal unproven hypothesis, and permitted thejustification of atheistic concept to be scientifically sound.Basically it allowed for purely atheistic politico-philosophies alikecommunism to find a sympathetic resonance within the 'intelligentsia'and the masses.

It also gave a great mechanistic impetus andapproach to the fields of biology, microbiology, psychology, neurobiology, and the allopathic technical mechanistic approach to thehealth sciences. Technology was 'king' and the understanding ofinteractions between well-defined separated systems would bring thepossible conquest of disturbances and imperfections in the 'machinery'of biological entities.

Man having created a new religion called'science', which revered himself and his intellect, had the perceptionof having attained a Godlike control over nature.

By the end of19th century the ultraviolet catastrophe - as it came to be known - putthis whole hygienic view of the world in question, and the theory of'quanta' of Max Planck was introduced in 1900. The German physicist MaxPlanck introduced the notion of packets of energy that he called'quanta' in order to explain why the wavelength (color) of theradiation given off by heated objects did not rise in a continuousmanner but in discontinuous spurts from value to value as they grewhotter. Danish physicist Niels Bohr, who was to become later one of thefathers of the 'Manhattan Project' that developed the first US A-bombduring WWII, used in 1913 the theory of 'quanta' of energy in order toprove that the whole world of atoms was full of 'quantum' jumps. Anelectron could jump from one level of energy (so-called orbit) toanother without appearing in-between these states. Discontinuity hadbeen introduced in our equation of the universe!

In 1905 AlbertEinstein defined light as made of quanta of energy or particles that hecoined 'photons' in his famous paper explaining the photoelectriceffect for which he received a Nobel prize in 1923. He neverthelessacknowledged that light could also be defined as a wave, depending onthe mode of observation used in a chosen experiment, and theparticle/wave duality was introduced in our attempts to grasp themysteries of nature.

The new physics of the beginnings of thetwentieth century gave a mortal blow to the deterministic principles ofthe old school of thought. Time and space became relative notionsaccording to the theory of relativity of Albert Einstein. Quantumphysics stated that all particles of matter could be viewed either asmaterial bodies or as waves. It allowed for one electron (or any otherparticle) to be in two locations at once (double slit experiment), andproved that one could not predict the next location of a particle byknowing its present one.

In the strange world of quantum physics, particles dematerialized themselves into waves (such as in transistors)and rematerialized themselves later into particles. This depended onthe type of experiment they were subjected to, and most importantly:the choice made by a conscious observer as to how he or she would viewthese particles.

To most theorists, the phenomena of natureexisted only as determined states as a conscious observer witnessedthem, either directly, or through the artifacts of a measuring device.Quantum mechanics was born, and with it our view of reality would beforever changed.

In order to comprehend events in the phenomenalworld, one needed to introduce a major variable that had until thenbeen ignored: The consciousness (self reflective thought) of theobserver. Without the perception of a material world by a consciousentity, there were great doubts as to the existence of that materialreality independently of its observation.

In other words we makea potential reality manifest itself by our choices, even retroactivelythrough time and immediately across the perceived infinite space, asthe two experiments mentioned hereafter have proven, to the surprise ofmost physicists. Or, in other words, volition and free will operateoutside the confines of time/space, and our impression of makingchoices is but a delayed awareness of events that higher levels of ourminds have already made for us and therefore project to our awareness(ego) as a holographic packet of sensory information, post facto. Weare therefore, at a higher level, the maker (subject) of our realityprojected to one's self (object) within the web of probabilities of thequantum world that we 'materialize' for both the subject and the objectthat are but two mirrors of one same reality: Consciousness, defined asself -reflective awareness.

Very advanced 'remote viewers' knowat which points volition is part of the higher levels of one's self andat which points it is made available to the lower (conscious level), asthe quantum self or higher self merges with the lower self (ego).

Ourcourses attempts to allow the conscious part (reactive sensoryapparatus operating as intellect) and the much higher vibratory mind(deep subconscious level) to merge with each other in awareness inorder to allow a human individual to be more in control of one'sreality and probable future. At the level of the higher mind time/spaceis instantly bridged. 'Remote Viewing' and especially 'RemoteInfluencing' allows one to connect to that level.

Mr. O'Donnellonly mentions quantum physics in order to allow for the comforting viewof reality of most individuals to be shattered and at the very leastquestioned. Each one is to find his or her own truth, using eventuallyhis or her own path. The course is only meant as a guide to a newworld, an opening to a new way of viewing and experiencing reality.

In1982 at the Institute of Applied Physics and Theoretical Optics at theUniversity of Paris, France, the team of physicists composed of AlainAspect, Jean Dalibard and Gerard Roger made what may prove to be thegreatest scientific discovery of this century. They provedexperimentally that the world is non-local or non-separable. This isequivalent to saying that space, as we perceive it to be, does notexist, but is an illusion of our senses. Projected by whom? This is thebig question that science tries to answer.

In the same field ofquantum theory, time is not only relative but one can experimentallychange the past, as the delayed choice experiment, carried out byscientists in the 80's at the University of Maryland and the Universityof Munich has proven.

Although this all seems to belong to therealm of science-fiction, it is a reality, albeit hard to accept, forall the minds that dwell in the world of the quanta: a world full ofseemingly contradictions, surprises, and a certain sense of humor.

Allmodern disciplines are nowadays affected by it, short maybe of modernbiology, neurobiology and surprisingly psychology that are stillembracing a mechanistic view of thought and have not, as yet, been ableto define it.

Quantum physics gave us the invention of the atomicbomb, the transistor, the computer chip, laser and devices using laserlight as a conduct for information, Josephson junctions insupercomputers, superconductors etc.

You should never doubt yournatural-born ability to operate at such a high vibratory level ofthought. This ability has been proven since antiquity, and is stillutilized successfully by highly secretive intelligence units belongingto the major world powers.

This is one case where a dose ofskepticism in the field of thought orientation and exploration isunhealthy, and the fear of ridicule even more so. You have to becomeopen-minded, as a child is. All major shifts in scientific thought haveincurred the ire of the static-minded old Praetorian Guard of proveninadequate sclerotic systems that are beginning to hit too many wallsloaded with points of singularity.

The methods taught in ourcourses are probably part of the dawn of a new paradigm shift inscientific thinking that will revolutionize and change the 'oldclassical scientific concepts' of the late 19th century that still rulefor most of us our interpretation of our perceived material reality. This will have major implications in the natural and health sciences, the biological perceptions and their assumed correlations, all otherphenomenal science, and the understanding of what the mind is.

Ifwe are in the process of constantly creating our reality by thinkingabout it in an individualized and global manner, and that sciencereflects but a snapshot of our attempt at understanding our Creation, amajor shift in our thought- perception will induce totally differentways at experiencing the phenomenal world and controlling it to ourdesires.

All aspects of our lives in this new Millennium will, most likely, be profoundly transformed by it.

Theintroduction of consciousness as a major factor in the equation ofreality by modern quantum physics is at the core of one of the majorparadox of so-called psychic research. According to quantum physics, the thought of the observer has an influence upon the result of anexperiment. Therefore, if we are co-creator of our reality by merethought, the natural imbued skepticism of many scientists and theirmethodologies introduce a negative bias in the results that they wouldobtain in thought experiment such as 'remote viewing' etc.

Inother words, in order to achieve 100% success at proving the efficacyof 'remote viewing or influencing ' one would need to deal withscientists and tests subjects that are of the firm belief of the easyachievement of such mental feats, which would automatically be called abias experimental protocol by the skeptical scientific community. Thatis why the best results at remote viewing were always achieved withinintelligence and military secret units that pragmatically only caredabout bridging time and space effectively using mental technologies, and were not the least concerned about peer recognition and the fear ofbeing ridiculed.

Ecological Economics

Ecological Economics

INTRODUCTION:

Economics is a social science discipline. It is concerned with the production, distribution channels, as well as consumption patterns of goods and services. Robbins (1932) defines modern day economics as the science that studies the behaviors of humans as a relationship between limited means and ends that have different alternative uses.

Ecological economics is a current offshoot of the wider environmental economics. Ecological economists have put mainstream economists on the look out as ecological economics is concerned with the way firms and individuals alike practice their means of production.

Ecological economists’ claim that economic production activities affect what is being called ‘ecological throughput’. These economists are concerned that the current productive processes especially of non-renewable sources of energy should be done at levels within the ecosystems carrying capacities.

Economics is a social science, as thus it does not involve many empirical studies as the biological and physical sciences. Due to this fact, many economic arguments are based on certain theories given the underlying assumptions. This is what makes it possible for one school of thought to claim that within the next 100 years, if we do not make major changes to the physical, economic and social relationships that govern our world development, then we as a human race will exhaust our non renewable resources while at the same time another group feels this is not the case.

Depending on the theory and model, that a study is based on we will definitely have opposing results. The pessimists believe that within the next 100 years we will have exhausted our non-renewable resources. The optimists on the other hand, led by Herman believe that due to the continuing evolutions of new, better, more efficient technologies, then it is possible to push back the environments natural limits until they are no longer limit us.

The optimists’ conclusion seems to be the winning side since history has really showed us the way forward.

ARGUMENTS FOR THE OPTIMISTS:

When Robert Malthus predicted that the world would not be able to feed itself in decades to come since populations grow geometrically and food production arithmetically in his essay “the principles of population” he had ignored a very critical factor(technological progress), that has since ensured that the world has the potential to produce in surplus.

In addition to this, the exploitation of non-renewable resources has widely led to the industrial manufacture of renewable substitutes for these non-renewable resources.

On top of this fact, it is surprising to note that the rate of discovery of new non-renewable resources is higher than the rate at which the same resources are being exploited.

Historically it has been proven that as the stock of non-renewable resources dwindles then the unit price of the same products keep on rising. This thus means that it will always come a time when people will opt for new sources other than utilizing the non-renewable resources.

Regardless of this fact, it is necessary to note that the concerns that are being coined by the pessimists have also some economic implications. It is surprising to note that the rate at which industrial waste is being let out into the environment it is at a higher rate than the ecological assimilative capabilities. This thus means that there might come a time when even with our advanced technologies we shall be facing possible extinction.

In addition to this, it is surprising to note that the rate at which we are harvesting renewable resources it is at a higher rate than the natural rate of these resources regeneration.

CONCLUSION:

Whether we take an optimist or a pessimist approach, we need to realize that our actions are what will determine to a greater percentage our destiny. Thus, it is necessary as Herman Daly noted for us to start thinking and planning for sustainable growth before we start to talk about sustainable development.

Hijacking An Airplane No Longer Science Fiction

Hijacking An Airplane No Longer Science Fiction

Hijacking An Airplane No Longer Science Fiction

by Connie H. Deutsch

After 9/11, we became paranoid about airport security. We couldn't even take lip balm or nail clippers on airplanes. TSA agents have been allowed to get away with sexual pat-downs and confiscating expensive items for phony reasons that are unrelated to airport security.

But now we're hearing the worst news of all.

A German security consultant, who's also a commercial pilot, has demonstrated tools he says could be used to hijack an airplane remotely, using just an Android phone.

Speaking at the Hack in the Box security summit in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Hugo Teso said Wednesday that he spent three years developing SIMON, a framework of malicious code that could be used to attack and exploit airline security software, and an Android app to run it that he calls PlaneSploit.

Using a flight simulator, Teso showed off the ability to change the speed, altitude and direction of a virtual airplane by sending radio signals to its flight-management system. Current security systems don't have strong enough authentication methods to make sure the commands are coming from a legitimate source, he said.

'You can use this system to modify approximately everything related to the navigation of the plane,' Teso told Forbes after his presentation. 'That includes a lot of nasty things.'

Hugo Teso told a crowd at an Amsterdam conference that he spent three years coding the tools he used.

He told the crowd that the tools also could be used to do things like change what's on a pilot's display screen or turn off the lights in the cockpit. With the Android app he created, he said he could remotely control a plane by simply tapping pre-loaded commands like 'Please Go Here' and the ominous 'Visit Ground.'

Teso says he developed SIMON in a way that makes it work only in virtual environments, not on actual aircraft.

'His testing laboratory consists of a series of software and hardware products, but the connection and communication methods, as well as ways of exploitation, are absolutely the same as they would be in an actual real-world scenario,' analysts at Help Net Security wrote in a blog post.

Teso told the crowd that he used flight-management hardware that he bought on eBay and publicly available flight-simulator software that contains at least some of the same computer coding as real flight software.

Analyst Graham Cluley of Sophos Security said it's unclear how devastating Teso's find would be if unleashed on an actual airplane.

'No one else has had an opportunity to test this researcher's claims as he has, thankfully, kept secret details of the vulnerabilities he was able to exploit,' Cluley said. 'We are also told that he has informed the relevant bodies, so steps can be taken to patch any security holes before someone with more malicious intent has an opportunity to exploit them.'

Teso said at the summit that he's reached out to the companies that make the systems he exploited and that they were receptive to addressing his concerns. He also said he's contacted aviation safety officials in the United States and Europe.

'From the sound of things, this researcher has got himself a lot of media attention, but still believes in responsible disclosure, rather than potentially putting aircraft and passengers at risk,' Cluley said.

Teso isn't the first so-called 'white hat' hacker to expose what appear to be holes in air-traffic security.

Last year, at the Black Hat security conference in Las Vegas, computer scientist Andrei Costin discussed weaknesses he said he found in a new U.S. air-traffic security system set to roll out next year. The flaws he found weren't instantly catastrophic, he said, but could be used to track private airplanes, intercept messages and jam communications between planes and air-traffic control.

Right now, this app is being used in virtual environments, not on actual aircraft. Teso, who has spent the last three years developing a framework of malicious code and testing it out on flight simulations, is just demonstrating the app's ability to breach airline security software.

However, when something like this comes to media attention, it isn't too much longer before someone with malevolent intent and the same kind of expertise comes along who will try to use it in the real world.
